Seeing the horrible flooding happening in Pakistan right now brought to mind my closest personal experience with a disaster of that magnitude. This photograph was taken shortly after the tsunami that ravaged much of Asia hit in late 2004.
I swapped cameras with a friend for a couple of days so that I could experiment with shooting something at 50fps. My camera doesn’t have this feature even though it cost more (first world problems!). But anyways shooting at 50fps and conforming it to 25fps is what allows for the cleaner slow motion that you see here. Alright, enough camera talk.
I didn’t actually go back. Now that I’m back in the office and thousands of miles away, it’s given me a chance to give everything a second look through and find some decent shots that I missed on the first go-round.
Taking a bit of a breather this week after a bit of time on the road. Here’s one taken upon my initial arrival in Shellharbour a couple years back. A far cry from the streets of Delhi. December 12, 2008.
